You will need:
- A bottle of dry red wine
 - ½ cup Orange juice
 - Cinnamon
 - 4 cored, peeled pears
 
To make:
- Add the red wine with orange juice and cinnamon in a large saucepan, add the pears and simmer for about 25 minutes
 - To serve, add a scoop of ice cream or cream, drizzle over some poaching liquid and sprinkle with almonds.
